Arches National Park in Moab, Utah
The rock formations are stunning here, even the non-arch formations!
Tower Arch Trail
Ranger-Led Hike Through Fiery Furnace
Park ranger Matt Smith tells our hiking group about the desert environment of Arches and the juniper trees that grow there.
This famous inscription on the south side of Tower Arch reads "DISCOV'D BY M. AND MRS. ALEX RINGHOEFFER AND SONS 1922-23."
It's difficult to tell the scale of this arch in this photo. This span is 92 feet and has a height of 43 feet. It is massive.
A quick lesson about desert vegetation.
Park ranger Matt Smith shows us how to navigate a very narrow passage with some fancy footwork and body contortions.
